City Impact Conference 2015: Reimagine Church | Recap

#ReimagineChurch was this year's theme for the City Impact Conference. The goal was to rethink what church looks like according to scripture.

A one day experience filled with worship in the morning, then breaking out into 30+ outreaches in the inner city and gathering back to worship in the evening. Guest speakers included Francis Chan, author of New York Time’s bestseller, Crazy Love, and Matthew Barnett, lead pastor of the Dream Center and Angelus Temple in LA.

An open dialogue on #ReimagineChurch was facilitated between a panel of pastors: Francis Chan, Kyle Zimmerman, Leader Pastor of Mariners Church in Irvine, CA, and Roger Huang, Founder of San Francisco City Impact.

All 1800+ attendees broke out at 11 AM to serve the people of the inner city between 24 different sites, excluding several mobile outreaches that visited homes, street corners and various sites.

Here’s a short breakdown of the day:

  • 8,400 meals passed out
  • 1,000+ residents prayed for
  • 581 street cafe sit-down meals
  • 479 residents medically assessed
  • 322 sponsors raised
  • 220 kids participated in 45 games & booths
  • 152+ residents & attendees taking next steps
  • 120 residents' feet washed
  • 70 haircuts
  • 18 medical house calls
  • 2 life changing messages
  • 1 transforming day

An opportunity was offered to attendees to take the next step in serving in the Tenderloin through the local church. If you want to take the next step, go to sfcityimpact.com/volunteer and complete and submit the volunteer form.

Thank you to all the attendees and supporters! Your efforts have made the 2015 City Impact Conference possible!

Thank you,

Christian Huang
