On Saturday, November 14, City Impact hosted it’s annual Farrington Thanksgiving Outreach. This event is dedicated to Beth Farrington one of City Impact’s most faithful volunteers and advocates who passed away a few year ago. The outreach is a reminder of her life and so many volunteers that leverage their lives for others. Beth has shown that City Impact is an idea that one man or woman can make a difference. Her Impact and legacy continues even today through this outreach.
Over 580 volunteers came through City Impact’s doors to serve the people in the inner city of San Francisco. Volunteers were briefed and instructed before mobilizing out to 19 different outreaches, including a Kids Carnival, Meal Delivery, Building Parties, Medical House calls, Women’s Ministry and a Sit Down Cafe.
Some of the highlights include:
- 3,500 hot cooked meals
- 300+ people invited to a sit-down meal
- 15 people provided medical care
- 40 makeovers (haircuts & nails)
- 98+ kids at the carnival
Thank you to all the volunteers and leaders who came out to serve and intervene on behalf of others.
