OVERVIEW

SF City Impact is a non-profit organization that exists to intervene on behalf of the people in the inner city of San Francisco. We ensure every decision keeps our pace, benefits our people, and helps tract towards our strategic plan. 


ROLE SUMMARY

The School of Ministry Director is primarily responsible for the oversight and supervision of the operations and business management of the School of Ministry and City Impact College/Northwest University partnership.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

  • Manage all SOM staff, ensuring quality performance and goal completion

  • Oversee all internal SOM classes

  • Develop and build out of the curriculum for SOM classes as the program grows and more classes are needed

  • Connect with SFCI Executive Committee regarding vision and direction of SOM

  • Keep a pulse on the mindset of the students, ensuring that they are healthy and growing, resolving any issues, and maintaining their relationship with the overall ministry

  • Responsible for decisions on disciplinary issues and addressing problems as they arise

  • In conjunction with SFCI Church Coordinator, provide spiritual leadership for the SOM staff and students

  • Participate and facilitate SFCI spiritual retreats with SOM students (3 for 9-month students, 1 for 3-month students)

  • Develop ideas and strategies to keep morale high and a united body

  • Develop plan for facilities management and delegate tasks to SOM staff and students

Business Management

  • Facilitate Northwest partnership, Northwest classes, and the education of Northwest students within SFCI

  • Monitor grades and progress of students enrolled in Northwest, both SOM students as well as staff and church members

  • Recruit and assign teachers for City Impact College classes

  • Develop relationships with potential and current teachers of classes so students are receiving quality training and more than one voice

  • Connect with mission team leaders as needed

  • Facilitate relationships with potential SOM students

  • Oversee student recruitment process for School of Ministry and City Impact College

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Love for Jesus and His Church

  • Agreement with the statement of faith, theology, and core values of SF City Impact

  • Demonstrates integrity, truthfulness, discretion, and conducts self in a professional manner making proper use of organizational resources

  • Demonstrates the ability to discuss confidential matters in an appropriate manner or setting and to the appropriate person

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to lead a high capacity team

  • Demonstrates a desire and ability to create an inviting and welcoming space for staff and guests

  • Proficient in technology and database management (MS Word, MS Excel, , etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in practical ministry preferred

3 days weekly, with flexibility to assist with special events and outreaches
