RESCUE MISSION - DINING ROOM

Our Dining Room serves hot, nutritious meals. Dining Room Service is more than a meal: it is a way to share stories, smiles, and build community. We serve hundreds of guests each day!

Schedule 9:00am - Briefing
9:30am - Volunteers are escorted to help serve brunch in our Rescue Mission. Volunteers will help serve coffee and pastries, bus tables, and assist in the prep kitchen.
11:30am - Closing, debrief with City Impact rep and share thoughts on experience
12pm - Departure


2pm - Briefing
2:30 pm - Volunteers will help prep meals for our dinner service. This includes:
greeting guests, serving food, clearing tables, and clean up.
4:30pm- Closing debrief with City Impact rep and share thoughts on experience.
5pm - Departure

Other special tasks: Food pantry help, facilities projects, community outreach, assist with grocery delivery, assist with Social Services tasks(DMV forms, housing/career assistance, etc.)
Time frames available 9am - 12pm or 2pm - 5pm

SAN FRANCISCO CITY ACADEMY - SFCA (K-8 SCHOOL)

San Francisco City Academy exists to empower urban children and release them to excel academically, physically, spiritually and socially. Our staff and teachers provide love and care for each student, and strive to see them succeed!

Program Description San Francisco City Academy exists to empower urban children and release them to excel academically, physically, spiritually and socially. Our staff and teachers provide love and care for each student, and strive to see them succeed!

Schedule 9:00am - Briefing
9:30am - During this time, volunteers will work as a teacher’s aide in the classroom, help organize homework folders, and engage with students during recess.
11:30am - Closing, debrief with City Impact rep and share thoughts on experience
12pm - Departure


2pm - Briefing
2:30 pm - During this time, volunteers will work as a teacher’s aide in the classroom, help organize homework folders, and engage with students during recess. After school, volunteers may also help students with homework, and tutoring.
4:30pm- Closing debrief with City Impact rep and share thoughts on experience.
5pm - Departure

THRIFT STORE

City Impact Thrift store restores dignity through meeting tangible needs and offered reasonable priced items. The thrift store runs on outside donations and works hard to provide quality products, friendly service and a refuge to the vulnerable.

10am - Volunteers are escorted to the Thrift Store to help sort clothes, hang clothes, log donations, general cleaning and assist customers with shopping

KITCHEN

Healthy food is an important component of a healthy community. Out of our commercial kitchen we produce more than 1,500 meals each week for the school children, homeless, and shut-in residents.
