Compassion Weekend is an annual event in partnership with Menlo Church from Menlo Park, CA in order to serve the people in the inner city of San Francisco. The goal is to equip and mobilize local members of Menlo Church and the greater body of volunteers, to experience what it’s like to execute Biblical justice: feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit the lonely.
Please note that this is Shift One (8:30am-12:00pm) and not Shift Two (12:30pm-4:00pm).
For Shift One, you can join us in the following areas.
Kitchen - Help to cook the food that will be delivered into the buildings. This is a vital role to feed many inner city residents who are isolated, alone and hungry. Volunteers will check in at the registration table and report early to their station.
Meal Prep - Help to package the food that will be delivered into the buildings.
Meal Delivery - Deliver the packaged food into buildings, while engaging in conversations with residents, raising awareness of City Impact’s services, and offering prayer. *This may require a lot of walking.
Kids Carnival - Assist our school staff and youth leaders in reaching out to the inner city children that we know be name and inviting them back to the kids carnival.
**Free T-Shirt upon arrival** Limited style and sizes while supples last.
