ROLE SUMMARY

The Rescue Mission Coordinator is primarily responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Rescue Mission dining room and programs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dining Room and Grocery Distribution

    • Maintain cleanliness and security of facilities utilized

    • Work in collaboration with other SFCI departments to ensure Tenderloin residents are cared for in a Christ-like manner to build the church

    • Connect any development opportunities with outside groups to appropriate staff member(s)

  • Logistics

    • Recruit, develop and oversee daily preaching, Bible study, and worship schedule

    • Work in collaboration with Food and Beverage department to acquire food and other supplies as needed

  • Other

    • Facilitate operations with a team of students and volunteers for dining room—from food preparation to worship service

    • Work in collaboration with Rescue Mission Director to ensure gospel-centered teaching, counseling and programming

    •  Resolve conflicts and confrontations in a peaceful manner

    • Coordinate personal connections with building representatives and SFCI staff for grocery distribution (Care Host) program

  • Demonstrates integrity, truthfulness, discretion, and conducts self in a professional manner making proper use of organizational resources

  • Demonstrates the ability to discuss confidential matters in an appropriate manner or setting and to the appropriate person

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to work with a high capacity team and in a high intensity environment

  • Demonstrates a desire and ability to create an inviting and welcoming space for staff, community members, and others

  • Demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions quickly with wisdom and discernment

SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday with flexibility to assist with special events and outreaches

HOURS

40 hours per week

Non-exempt
