ROLE SUMMARY

The Rescue Mission Director is primarily responsible for the oversight and supervision of all relief (frontline) ministry programs, staff, and facilities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relief Ministries (Food Bank, Clinic, Dining Room, Social Enterprise, Visitation Ministry, Social Services)

    • Ensure gospel-centered teaching, counseling and programming in each relief ministry department

    • Work in collaboration with Operations Director to ensure measurable goals are met in all areas, including safety & compliance, MOUs, certification, training, and programming

    • Oversee and direct the daily operations of relief ministries, including worship service schedule, kitchen & food service, donation pickups, and urgent care & patient advocacy

    • Develop and maintain budgets for each department

    • Connect any development opportunities with outside groups to appropriate staff member(s)

  • Discipleship

    • Shepherd relief ministry staff, community volunteers and Tenderloin residents

    • Provide oversight of relief ministry managers

    • Connect ministries to build the church

    • Recruit and mobilize staff, students, mission team volunteers, churches, and community volunteers for relief ministry operations

    • Understand the specific needs of each department and support as needed

  • Facilities

    • Manage cleanliness and compliance of all relief ministry facilities

    • Coordinate proper allocation of ministry facilities and sites

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Love for Jesus and His Church

  • Agreement with the statement of faith, theology, and core values of SF City Impact

  • Demonstrates integrity, truthfulness, discretion, and conducts self in a professional manner making proper use of organizational resources

  • Demonstrates the ability to discuss confidential matters in an appropriate manner or setting and to the appropriate person

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to lead a high capacity team

  • Demonstrates a desire and ability to create an inviting and welcoming space for staff and guests

  • Proficient in technology and database management (MS Word, MS Excel, Salesforce, etc.)

  • 3+ years of Rescue Mission oversight and management

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in practical ministry preferred

SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday with flexibility to assist with special events and outreaches

HOURS

40 hours per week

Non-exempt
